BankNewport Names Annisha Vasquez Vice President, Community Development Officer

NEWPORT, RI (June 13, 2024) – BankNewport is pleased to announce the appointment of Annisha Vasquez to vice president, community development officer.

In her new position, Vasquez will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering many strategic aspects of the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act Program, through banking relationships with community-based, charitable, and nonprofit organizations.  She will also be responsible for establishing opportunities to meet the lending needs for low and moderate-income communities, businesses, and customers.

Vasquez is a Providence native and has seven years of experience in public service. Prior to her new role, she served as the recovery communications and engagement manager for Mayor Brett P. Smiley at the City of Providence. She also held the position of deputy director of communications for Mayor Jorge O. Elorza.

Annisha is a former advisory council member of the RISE Women’s Leadership Conference.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhode Island College and resides in Johnston, Rhode Island.
