BankNewport Names Vice President

Patrick Clays

NEWPORT, R.I. (June 24, 2008) - BankNewport President and CEO, Thomas W. Kelly, recently announced the appointment of Patrick J. Clays to the position of vice president, mortgage consultant. He will be responsible for originating residential first mortgages in Kent and Washington Counties, and will be based out of BankNewport’s Narragansett and North Kingstown branch offices. Clays comes to BankNewport from Sovereign Bank in Warwick, Rhode Island where he served as a loan officer. He was formerly with Citizens Bank in Wakefield, Rhode Island, serving as a senior loan officer, earning their President’s Club designation for eleven consecutive years. Clays earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. He is a member of the Kent Washington Association of Realtors, a member of the Westerly Land Trust and is a volunteer coach for the Westerly National Little League. Patrick has three children and resides in Westerly, Rhode Island.
