Overview

Accurately processes customer transactions while ensuring that all proper bank policies and procedures are followed. Generates goodwill by consistently providing quality customer service. Actively participates in the promotion of bank products to meet referral goals.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers. Understands and performs in accordance with the “Winning play for Tellers.”

Processes a variety of transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to bank policies and procedures. Knows and follows the branch security procedures and understands the function and operation of the security devices. Balances transactions and cash at the end of the day and participates in the branch settlement.

Strives to make all customers feel welcome and at ease by taking a personal interest in each and every one. Handles customer requests competently and in a timely manner while maintaining customer confidentiality. Shows appreciation for customers’ business by thanking them and using appropriate salutations.

Maintains updated knowledge of the bank’s products and services. Recognizes referral opportunities and recommends appropriate product or service. Directs customers to the Customer Service Rep. or Branch Manager for additional and/or more detailed information.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent. At least 6 months of teller or similar level of customer contact experience. Must be able to perform basic math procedures and have good customer service, communication, problem solving and organizational skills. Must be able to use various types of office equipment, including computer terminal.
